Paul and Chloe both grew up in Hastings and have been part of our church for many years. Paul leads the church, bringing his years of experience in commerce from when he worked in the building industry. He and Chloe want to see the church actively involved in the community. Their four boys keep them very busy, but they still find time to be hospitable alongside their various responsibilities in leadership. Chloe takes an active part in running Totz Klub, our parents and toddlers group, and is involved in Wrigglers on Sunday mornings.
Paul and Chloe love to see God at work in the lives of individuals and want many people to experience the amazing transformation that He brings. They are excited about being involved with a vibrant, outward-looking church, which impacts the town of Hastings and its surrounding areas. They are convinced that it is only the gospel that will bring lasting impact to the community as people find reconciliation and peace through the cross of Jesus Christ.

Once seen never forgotten is certainly a true statement when it comes to San. And you don’t have to spend many minutes with him to know that it’s all positive. There’s something about this larger-than-life character that is quite endearing. Maybe it’s his Greek family heritage and early upbringing in America that adds a unique flavour to his personality.
His personal story has much of interest but entering into the drink and drugs culture might well have brought it to an untimely full stop, were it not for his attraction to a certain young lady named Emma. San, knowing of her Christian faith, decided that attending an Alpha course was the route to win her love. But halfway through God intervened and San had an encounter with Jesus Christ and was unable to resist becoming a Christian. He was right about the Alpha course though, as he and Emma are now married with two children! Emma works in the local community within the probation service. Together they carry significant responsibility for pastoral care within the church and there’s no shortage of people who love being around them.

They are a wonderful pastoral couple who head up and oversee half of the church groups which meet in homes during the week. Liz and Adrian met on a walking holiday in the Lake District 10 years ago and now have 2 children. Adrian was born and brought up in Hastings, while Liz moved to Spain with her parents when she was 13. Adrian and the children try to learn Spanish from Liz, although Adrian is the keener one! Good wine is one of Adrian’s interests but they both love good food are both good cooks. So being invited to their home for dinner will assure you of a wonderful meal as well as interesting conversation! Their caring attitudes mean they spend a lot of time meeting with people to pray and support individuals, couples and families through the variety of challenges life throws at us. Relaxation time is spent enjoying walking along Hastings seafront in all weathers and being tempted into the many different local coffee shops along the way to enjoy another one of their passions – coffee!

Kevin and Liz have been part of King’s Church since 2007, when they moved over from Brighton where they had lived for 20 years. They are involved in a variety of activities within church life, but Kevin is also employed full-time running administration and projects. Kevin and Liz started married life by Kevin diving head-first into the shallow end of a swimming pool, fracturing his skull in the process. Despite this, they’ve been married for over 30 years and have four grown-up children.
When not in casualty they enjoy travelling, good food and wine with Liz being a keen and capable cook, though top of Kevin’s menu list will always be Haribo sweets – he can sniff them out from 50ft! Kevin’s hobbies are mainly sport-related: he’s completed four marathons and many more half-marathons. He’s also completed the London to Brighton bike ride. Lately he’s given up more strenuous exercise but still keeps mildly active by taking part in a tenpin bowling league and is passing on his skills by coaching children.
Kevin is Operations Manager.
The King’s Church leadership team is supported by 14 pastoral deacons. These are men and women who are mature Christians, have been involved in church life here in Hastings for some time and are highly respected among the church community for the way they care for people and their wisdom in helping members through difficult or challenging situations.
