Last Sunday Paul mentioned some changes to the leadership team at King's. The Akrasi and Edworthy families will be joining us here in Hastings in August. Paul Edworthy will be joining the staff leadership team at the start of September. Here is some info from both families about themselves...
The Edworthy family
Paul and Ros Edworthy have been married for 14 years and have two children, Maddy who is 11 and Malachi who is nine. Paul is originally from Grays in Essex and as well as having theological training and many years of local church experience, he is also a qualified coach and has worked with people of different ages and from lots of different backgrounds.
Ros is from Carlisle and is a primary school teacher (specialising in music), she also has counselling qualifications and lots of experience in local church. Paul, Ros, Maddy & Malachi currently live in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. They moved to the area to plant a church for Alive, a multi-site church.
The family loves being part of and involved in local church. They also enjoy a variety of sports, music and other activities as well as just relaxing with other people, eating food and having fun! Malachi plays cricket and tennis, Maddy loves music and plays clarinet, Ros plays in a local concert band and Paul enjoys getting involved in triathlons.
The Edworthy family is really looking forward to being part of King’s Church and getting to know everyone. Having previously lived in the area (15 years ago) they are looking forward to returning and being part of all that God is doing in the town.
The Akrasi family
Samuel Akrasi is my name. I am married to Clare and we have two sons, Jedidiah (two years old) and Zachariah (three months). We've lived in Ghana since our marriage in August 2011. I am an elder at the City of God Church in Accra, Ghana. City of God Church is led by John Kpikpi and a team of four elders. It is also part of Newfrontiers.
For many years I led worship in the City of God Church and also served on the kids workers team as well as the youth work. Currently I am involved mainly with teaching newly saved/potental church members lessons on the church's training track, preaching (John Kpikpi does most of the preaching however) and also effectively discipleship.
Clare and I also help teach marriage prep lessons. I also serve as Head of Secondary, New Nation School (NNS). NNS is a ministry of the City of God Church. Started in September 2004, NNS has grown to become one of the best schools running the British National Curriculum in Ghana. In 2014, NNS was adjudged the best IGCSE school in Ghana.
I am passionate about Jesus, the church and mission. I do love basketball and football and could eat a roast dinner every day!
