Free dance classes!

Free dance classes may not seem like a typical thing for a church to offer, but here at King's we launched some three weeks ago! Called Move. dance company, we're offering kids and adults of all abilities the chance to dance and perform together and have fun; 40 people have already signed up and come along.

The dance classes have an emphasis on contemporary dance technique, fitness, creativity and performance, and are suitable for people with previous dance experience and complete beginners.

Classes run on Thursday evenings during term-time at the Hastings Centre, and started on 16 April. Kids’ classes for 4-7s run from 4.15-4.45pm, and for 8-11s classes run from 5-5.30pm. These are a great opportunity for kids to learn to get fit, learn basic techniques and express themselves creatively. For adults (12+) classes run from 6.30-7.30pm and incorporate contemporary techniques, fitness, project-based work and opportunities to perform. Feel free to turn up one Thursday if you'd like to.

Joanna Thurston, a qualified dance professional, leads the programme. She says: "The reason we're running Move. is to enable people to explore creativity through dance, and by holding free classes we really want to make it available to everyone. We're hoping to see everyone who takes part build confidence and enjoy being themselves."

Don’t miss this great opportunity to build friendships, improve your fitness and dance techniques, and have fun. If you’re interested, you can find out more here, or for further information, contact Joanna at or call 01424 755990.
