Chillz wins award from local council

One of our Community Groups has been presented with an award by Hastings Borough Council for its work with local teenagers.

Chillz is a late-night, cafe-style event for under-18s who hang around in Hastings town centre on Friday nights. Run from Central Hall in the heart of the town centre, it provides a safe place where young people can relax, warm up, get hot chocolate and toast, listen to music and find a friendly, listening ear.

Hastings Borough Council presented Ian & Bridget Partridge, who lead Chillz, and the team with a 'certificate of appreciation' at the Hastings Youth Awards on Sunday afternoon. The framed certificate says the award is given: "In recognition of great work with the young people of Hastings and District."
