THREE MARRIAGE COURSE MYTHS
06.01.17 | IAN & CLAIRE LOCKWOOD
We run a range of courses here at King’s Church throughout the year, so if you want to know more about the Christian faith, enrich your marriage, deepen your understanding of the Bible or become a member of this church, we have the course for you!
The Alpha Course is an international course aimed at anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. At King’s Church, we aim to make Alpha as relaxed and informal as possible, which is one of the reasons we sometimes run it in a pub. Topics include ‘who is Jesus?’ and ‘why did Jesus die?’ and there will be plenty of space for you to bring your own questions.
Our Spring 2017 Alpha course is full, but if you’d like to sign up for the next one, you can do so here and we’ll let you know the date and venue in due course.

If you want to become a member of King’s Church Hastings or just want to know what joining the church involves, our two-evening Exploring Membership course is for you. As well as looking at why membership matters, our vision and faith statements, what you can expect from the leaders, giving and serving, the course gives you the opportunity to get to know the church leaders and to ask questions about church life.
Exploring Membership is usually held on mid-week evenings from 7.30pm. To sign up for the next course, click here.
Building strong foundations is vital as you grow and develop in your faith, and as such this course is designed to help you grapple with some of the key doctrines of the Bible, including faith, grace, identity, repentance, baptism in water, the Holy Spirit, the Church and more.
The Foundations course is usually held over eight mid-week evenings from 7.30pm. Sessions include short talks by various church members and discussions in small groups.

Whether you’ve been a Christian for five minutes or 50 years, the Discipleship course will help you to mature in your faith. It explores how the truth we read in the Bible can radically change us when we apply it to our lives, as well as helping Christians to resolve personal and spiritual conflicts and deal with the past.
If you want to grow as a Christian, learn how to forgive, and find lasting freedom from any past hurts, disappointments or sin, this is the course for you.
This course is usually held on mid-week evenings from 7.30pm. To sign up for the next Discipleship course, click here.
This course will enrich any marriage, whether you’ve been together for one week or 50 years. You’ll pick up practical tools to enhance your marriage along the way, with sessions covering conflict, communication, sex, love and forgiveness. Each session is like ‘date night’, as couples enjoy a meal together, served at their own table.
The Marriage Course is usually held over eight mid-week evenings from 7.30pm. The course fee is £50 per couple, which covers dinner at each of the eight sessions and the course materials. You can watch a short film about the course here:
