Christmas creative challenge!

This year’s Christmas carols event, The Greatest Gift, is only three weeks away! It’s on Sunday 15 December at 4.30pm and 7pm, and popular local musician Liane Carroll will be performing at both services.

This is usually our biggest event of the year and a great opportunity to invite people along to celebrate Christmas with us. This year we're setting the church a creative challenge! We're giving everyone 7 flyers about the event and asking you to let us know how you'll be giving them out. We've already heard some great (and some not so great!) ideas, such as:

  • Simply giving them to 7 friends and family members;
  • Popping them through neighbours' letterboxes — 3 to the left, 3 to the right, and keeping one for a friend;
  • "My plan is to borrow 7 library books and give them back with a leaflet in the front!"
  • "I'm going to take mine to Tesco and drop them in people's trolleys!"*
  • "I'm thinking of sticking them on people's backs as they walk past me!"*

We'll be posting up other ideas over the next couple of weeks. If you're going to give out your 7 in a creative way, let us know! (Email:

There will be a prize for the most creative idea!

If you haven't seen the trailer for The Greatest Gift yet, watch it here.

* Disclaimer: Not all of these ideas are recommended by the church leadership team!
