What a great time we had on Sunday! The total for the Season of Prayer, Fasting & Giving now stands at £97,000, someone responded to the gospel at our morning meeting, one of our Community Groups (Chillz) won an award from the local Council, and we had an excellent time with Dave Holden in the evening. I was pleased that we could pray for Dave and all he's involved with in the UK, as well as France and Holland. It's good to be connecting with someone who has a heart for the nations and the local church.
You also demonstrated incredible generosity in the morning, giving sacrificially and in faith, not necessarily certain of where the money will come from. It is a challenging, but exciting season... I'm looking forward to seeing where we finish after this Sunday.
William Carey, a pioneer missionary to India, once said, "Expect great things from God; attempt great things for Him." William did that and at much personal cost – he pioneered missionary work, he translated the Bible into many local dialects, set up a printing press, and paved the way for many to follow in his lifetime.
In some small ways, we're doing the same for our communities, Hastings and Rother, as we look to grow Sunday mornings and build a facility that will be such a blessing to the church and those around us. God has always looked for a people who respond in faith and obedience.
We have already made such progress over the last 12 months and God is blessing us in so many ways. This Sunday is an opportunity for us to expect great things from God – but also to attempt great things for him, making a difference not only for this generation, but ones yet to come. Please come this Sunday ready to play your part.
Readings: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Question: Are you seeking God about how you can play your part in this Season?
Next prayer meetings: Today at 12.30pm and Thursday at 7.30pm, both at THC
